Kenton Circuit Court Judge Patricia Summe Monday denied a request by Ben-Gal Sarah Jones for a higher bond. Summe refused to reinstate her original $80,000 combined bond for she set for Sarah Jones and her mother, Cheryl. The judge Opted instead to keep the new bond at $30,000 with certain conditions.

A Ben-Gal cheerleader and former teacher has been indicted in Kenton County on allegations that she had sex with a student.
KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -
On Nov. 29, 2011, Sarah Jones walked into the Edgewood Police Department with her mother, Cheryl. Jones was there to answer questions about rumors she had a sexual relationship with Cody York, a student she taught his freshman year.
Within minutes, Jones explained that she had been the subject of rumors for years and was in the midst of a major lawsuit against a website.
"I mean I've had private investigators follow me for three years now, which is interesting, that's why this is so crazy because if any skeletons were in my closet, from an $11 million lawsuit, they would've found it before now," said Jones.
A short time later, she explained how the rumors impacted her job as a teacher.
"I had students come up to me and say that because the Internet said I was a slut, they would never be able to learn from me again, because of what the Internet said," she said.
The questioning went directly to her relationship with Cody York and Jones denied ever having any type of sexual relationship with him.
Eleven months later, Jones confessed to the relationship in court.
"This relationship began in February of 2011. Our romantic relationship included voluminous phone calls and text messages. I sent sexually explicit text messages to Cody York while he was a student," she said. "I had sexual contact including sexual intercourse with Cody York in Kenton County Kentucky while he was a student and I was a teacher at Dixie Heights High School."
Jones will avoid jail time and will not have to register as a sex offender. She did promise to never apply for a teaching or coaching job ever again. As part of her plea deal, the text messages between the two have been sealed.
