The woman accused of impersonating a police officer has been arrested and is currently being transported from the Tyler Police Department to the Smith County Jail.
Police say Jennifer Louise Cowser, who was reportedly impersonating a police officer committed the same crime twice in one week.
Sunday night, October 15, a man was robbed at a car wash off West Front Street in Tyler when a woman presented a false police badge and demanded to search his car. Monday, police said a similar thing had happened in downtown Tyler at D & N Grocery last week.
Police say she offered sex to all of the victims, and then claimed to be an officer when they took her up on her proposition. Cowser has an extensive criminal record. She is also accused in a case back in June where three Hispanic men reported the same type of incident that had happened to them.
She has been charged with two counts of impersonation, with bonds of $150,000 each, totaling $300,000.
