A 48-year-old man was hospitalized Sunday night after a paragliding accident on the western slope of the Catalina Mountains, the Pima County Sheriff's office told Tucson News Now.
The paraglider suffered arm and shoulder injuries, Deputy Tom Peine said.
The accident happened on the Sutherland Trail, in a rugged area of Catalina State Park, Peine said, around 4:45 p.m.
Two U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopters assisted in the rescue, with a Blackhawk helicopter flying the man to a landing zone then to the hospital.
