Arizona has picked a new U.S. Senator, filling a spot vacated by retiring Sen. Jon Kyl.
CBS is projecting Republican Jeff Flake has won a seat in the U.S. Senate. Libertarian Marc Victor, a criminal defense lawyer who served in the U.S. Marines, was also in the race.
Carmona was surgeon general under President George W. Bush. Flake has served as a U.S. Representative in the Sixth District of Arizona since 2001.
Flake's campaign came under fire yesterday for a round of automated calls that provided some democrats with incorrect information about their polling location. The U.S. Attorney in Phoenix says his office does have a request to investigate the calls. His campaign says it was an accident due to incorrect information from Maricopa County.
