A proposition that would repair Tucson roads it still too close to call this morning. Prop. 409 is one of the measures that could affect taxpayers and their money.
The Elections Office has shown that the race for Prop 409 is neck and neck since last night, and still holds true this morning. The vote is split, with 100 percent of the precincts reporting, it's a 50-50 race, but the ‘no' vote leads by almost 900 votes.
Counting of provisional ballots will push this race one way or the other.
Proposition 409 would allow the City of Tucson to sell $100 million in bonds to fix city streets. Critics say the taxpayer has already paid once and should not have to again. Others say it's a fix that must be made.
How does this affect taxpayers bank accounts? It would mean a tax of $18 for every $100,000 your home is worth. As of right now the race is still too close to call, with ‘no' ahead by only 900 votes.
