TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The U.S. Forest Service and Arizona Game and Fish Department set up a checkpoint near Redington Pass on Saturday, looking for wildlife violations.

By noon Saturday, 120 motorists were checked.

One hunter was ticketed for illegally taking a deer, and another was cited for failure to display a license plate on an off-road vehicle.

The U.S. Forest Service took one man into custody on an outstanding warrant.

The "Operation Game Thief" program has responded to 650 reports of wildlife violations this year, Arizona Game and Fish said Saturday.
