Family loses home to fire on NW side

MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A fire destroyed a mobile home in the 11400 block of North David Avenue, near Interstate 10 and West Tangerine Road on Monday. 

A woman with three children, ages 2, 4 and 8, used the mobile home as a storage facility.

No injuries were reported. 

Red Cross is assisting the family.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. Damages are estimated to be approximately $10,000.

    According to the Tucson Police Department, 68-year-old David Read left his assisted living center at 8151 E. Speedway Boulevard on Wednesday, July 19, around 4:30 p.m. He was headed to a church at 1950 S. Wilmot Road, but never made it there or back to the center.

    The storm swept through the camp, taking down four tents, knocking over a refrigerator and leaving them without power. Volunteers said this is the worst damage they've ever seen.
