TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A school on Tucson's south side was ordered locked down this afternoon as authorities looked for men who were allegedly firing a gun into the air from a vehicle.

No one was hurt and the men were not on the campus of Chaparral Middle School at 3700 E. Alvord Road, but it was locked down while Pima County Sheriff's deputies and Tucson Police officers searched the neighborhood for the men.

The lockdown has been lifted, but there is no word yet on whether the men were found.

Pima County Sheriff's Department received a report of men in a vehicle shooting into the air at East Benson Highway and South Alvernon Way.

When deputies arrived, the men ran away.

Tucson News Now will bring you more details as they become available.
