El Tour de Tucson rides through town on Saturday, and is taking over part of downtown today. It is the El Tour Expo, and there is a little something for everyone, even if you are not riding.
Today is the day to check it out if you live in Tucson, because huge crowds are expected on Friday. The Expo has been described as a mini trade show.
If you want to learn more about cycling, or want to ride in the tour next year, or just to learn about health and fitness, then the Expo is the place for that. The Expo is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and is open on Friday as well.
Organizers are expecting lots of visitors, and lots of traffic both today and tomorrow. Traffic will also be a hassle this Saturday as well.
The race stretches all around Tucson, shutting down some major roads and intersections, sometimes for hours at a time. Drivers will want to know where and when riders will be in their part of town, and adjust their plans.
The official race map can be found on Tucson News Now's website, as well as on Twitter and Facebook.
