Airport authority recognized for financial transparency

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Tucson Airport Authority has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association's highest honor for the 18th straight year.

TAA was given the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2011.

An impartial panel judges whether reports meet the award criteria, including demonstration of a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" in telling its financial story.

The GFOA is a non-profit association serving government finance professionals.

Dozens of volunteers will continue efforts to clean more than 1,500 graffiti tags around Peppersauce Cave this weekend.
