TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The first medical marijuana dispensary in Tucson has the green light to open its doors.

The facility is located in the Gaslight Plaza Shopping Center at the corner of Broadway and Kolb on the East side.

The owners tell Tucson News Now they passed the health inspection on Tuesday.

Rouben Beglarian and his wife say state health inspectors were here for four hours Tuesday going through a very thorough checklist.

Other dispensaries like Green Halo are also very close to opening up shop.  Owner Ken Sobel says he's already hired 25 employees, they are in training right now.  Sobel expects to be inspected any day now and says he is ready to open up shop as soon as he passes inspection that could be within two weeks.

Many medical marijuana cardholders welcome this news they've been waiting for two years for dispensaries T open their doors.

Joey Siedal says he needs the medication to lessen the pain and discomfort he's been diagnosed with a renal disease problems with his kidney.

The owner of this clinic on Broadway and Kolb did not want to go on camera but we are told that he has paid a lot of money to secure not just his facility but also providing security for his neighbors.
