TUSD moves ahead with closures on eight schools

TUSD made their decision last night after hearing three hours of public testimony, mostly against the move.  The Governing Board voted to begin the closure process for eight schools Tuesday. 

Hohokam, Carson, Schumaker, Fort Lowell/Townsedn, Corbett, Lyons, Sewell and Howenstine schools will be the subject of public hearings on Saturday, December 8 and Monday, December 10.  A special meeting of the board will follow on December 20. 

The board will reconsider voting on the closure process for Pueblo Gardens, Hollinger, Cragin, Brichta, Manzo and Menlo Park.  The board voted against closing Warren.
