Black Friday blurring into 'Gray Thursday'

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Black Friday is suffering a bruising as shoppers and store employees express frustration over earlier than ever opening hours, cutting into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Retailers like Toys 'R Us, Target, Walmart and Sears are opening their doors Thursday, instead of in the wee hours Friday morning, causing some to dub Thanksgiving Day "Gray Thursday." Walmart, Sears and Toys 'R Us will open at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night. Target opens at 9.

Shoppers have more options to shop than ever between Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.

There also are several apps available for download which allow shoppers to compare prices in stores with prices online. RetailMeNot.com, PriceGrabber.com, and BradsDeals.com are popular. Because of competition online, some retailers are for the first time offering to match competitors' prices on certain items.
