Downtown Tucson is about to get a little bit more difficult to navigate. The next phase of construction on the Modern Streetcar will close a portion of Congress between Granada and Church.
"Every time I come down it's worse," said Bobbi Shaffer, who is visiting the downtown area.
It's about to get a little trickier.
"Trying to get around to where you can turn or park, it's just a nightmare," said Shaffer.
Adding to the road closures in downtown, crews working on the Modern Streetcar will be closing another stretch of road on Monday morning. This time along Congress between Granada and Church.
This group of friends came prepared, bringing a map and allowing extra time to avoid any road blocks.
"It makes you think twice. Today, we are here for a special event and the GPS brought us here with no trouble. But, I wouldn't want to venture too far away from here," said Karin Galvin, also visiting downtown.
But, for those who come through here almost every day, like Ed Gilligan, he has an alternative way of getting to work.
Gilligan said, "I avoid the traffic congestion by cycling. It's an easy way for me to do it and it takes about the same amount of time."
Carolyn Harros meets in he area once a week for worship group. She says the construction doesn't bother her at all.
"We go where we want to go and we find a way to go. There are ways to navigate the construction," said Harrow.
The road closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Monday and will stay in effect until the end of January.
