Update - classes have resumed for Tucson High School students, as more than 80 percent of the school has power, this is according to TUSD officials. The students were evacuated from the building after the transformer blew and knocked out power in the area.
Story from earlier: The Tucson Fire Department is responding to a call from Tucson High School, where according to TFD, a transformer caught fire.
The fire is possibly located in a hallway near the gym. According to officials at the school, students are on the football field waiting to hear from TUSD on what to do with the school day.
Currently 1700 customers in the area are without power, this is according to a Tucson Electric Power spokesperson.
