TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Tucson Firefighters responded to a house fire on East 26th Street
near 22nd and Country Club around 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Responding crews could see flames from the house before they
arrived on scene. A handicapped person was pulled from a bedroom window of the
burning house before crews arrived.
It took 27 firefighters to contain the fire in 12 minutes.
Six people were at the home when the fire broke out. One
person was transported to a hospital after breaking windows to help with the rescue.
There were approximately 15 dogs in the house when the fire started. Several dogs died in the fire, but the
exact number has not been determined because other dogs were able to get out of
the house but are still unaccounted for.
The house was considered a total loss.
