Happening today, the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force will kick off its efforts to increase patrols this holiday season.
The Tucson Convention Center is where local law enforcement, along with family members who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers, will speak later today.
This is part of the annual Southern Arizona DUI Task Force press conference to kick off efforts to keep motorists safe for the holidays.
Local law enforcement agencies will come to talk about their various efforts in place for the holiday season, which is the most dangerous time of the year on the road.
Police will have checkpoints throughout the city and even staff officers every night to look out for drunk drivers.
Family members, who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers will also be at the TCC to share their messages.
Police started efforts last weekend after Thanksgiving, but today is a time to talk to the community specifically about what they are doing to keep the roads safe this holiday season.
The press conference starts at 10:30 a.m.
