TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

UPDATE: Tucson News Now has learned a $1 million prize has been awarded to a lottery player who purchased the ticket at the T&T Market located at 2048 S. 6th Avenue in South Tucson.

"I would love to know who that person is," Terry Gee, the owner and T&T Market said.

According to Arizona Lottery officials, the person has claimed the money.

"I have a feeling they will not come forward because that's a lot of money for this side of town," Gee said.

Gee says her shop will be getting a small check from the Lottery, but did not want to disclose the exact amount.

"I'm the one who sold all the tickets," Gee said. "I don't know if they're (the winner) going to take me out to dinner, but I'll be willing and able!"

This morning we found out there are two winning Powerball tickets out there and one was sold right here in Arizona.

A news release from Arizona Lottery said that as of 4:45 p.m., 15 minutes before the Arizona Lottery offices closed, the Arizona jackpot winner had not yet claimed the prize.

The offices will reopen tomorrow morning at 8.

The Arizona Lottery announced that the winning ticket was sold in Fountain Hills, northeast of Phoenix. The $10 quick pick ticket was bought at a 4 Sons Food Store.

The Arizona Lottery held a press conference at 11 a.m.  They announced that the winner has not yet claimed the prize. If you won, Arizona Lottery asks you call (480) 921-4472.

Lottery officials say winning tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri.  A record $579 million awaits the owner of the winning ticket.  This is the largest prize in Powerball history.

The last time a person from Arizona won the jackpot was September 2010. There were also two $1 million winners and $2 million, excluding the jackpot, won across the state.

Tickets were selling like crazy last night, at a rate of 130 per minute.  According to the Multi-State Lottery Association, sales in Arizona jumped 500 percent last week.

Arizona Lottery officials said if you've won, they recommend taking the following steps:

  • Sign your ticket
  • Keep the ticket in a safe place
  • Contact Arizona Lottery
  • Seek a financial adviser
