A very close game saw Alabama rise over Georgia to win the SEC Championship.

Scoring in the game didn't start until the second quarter. The first quarter saw Alabama fumble and Georgia miss a field goal attempt, but the two teams stayed evenly matched and scoreless.

The Bulldogs managed to end a 13-play drive across 87 yards to get a touchdown a minute into the second quarter. The score was made by Jay Rome, who carried an Aaron Murray pass 19 yards into the endzone. Marshall Morgan's extra point was good.

Right before halftime, Alabama was able to grab the lead from Georgia. An interception by Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix was returned to 35 yards to the Georgia 47 yard line. Bama was able to press down to the 5 yard line before running short on time. Jeremy Shelley was able to kick a 22-yard field goal as the clock ran out.

Coming back from the locker room, the Bulldogs kicked up their game a notch. Their first drive saw Georgia push 75 yards down the field in 9 plays to get another touchdown. Todd Gurley got the score on a 3-yard rush with 12:09 on the clock. This set the score at 14-10 with Georgia regaining the lead.

After stopping Alabama's drive, Georgia got a chance to score again. Alabama's Cade Foster was attempting a 49 field goal on 4th and 8 from the Georgia 32 yard line. Bulldog Alec Ogletree was able to recover the ball after the kick was blocked and return it all the way for a touchdown. Marshall Morgan kicked the extra point to bring Georgia up 21-10.

This included a 31-yard rush by Yeldon and a 10-yard Yeldon rush for the touchdown. The Tide went for the two-point conversion and got it with a T.J. Yeldon rush. This set the Tide trailing by 21-18.

After forcing a Bulldog punt, Alabama found another touchdown. The 7-play drive covered 74 yards. Eddie Lacy got the score on a 1 yard rush as the game passed into the 4th quarter. With 14:57 remaining in the game Alabama got the lead at 25-21.

The back-and-forth continued as Georgia scored again. The Bulldogs quickly drove down the field in a 5-play rush across 75 yards. The big play of the drive saw Aaron Murray complete a pass to Tavares King for 45 yards to the Alabama 12 yard line. The touchdown was made by Todd Gurley in a 10-yard rush with 12:54 remaining in the game. Marshal Morgan's extra point set the score at 28-25 in Georgia's favor.
