TUCSON, AZ (Arizona Athletics) -
The Arizona Wildcats will return to post-season bowl play in Albuquerque, New Mexico where they will play on December 15th in the New Mexico Bowl.

The Wildcats will face Nevada in a game that will feature two of the top rushers in the country in Arizona's Ka'deem Carey and the Wolf Pack's Stefphon Jefferson.

Carey is currently second in the country with 1,757 yards, 14 behind Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch. Jefferson ranks 4th with 1,703 yards on the season.

"I'm excited for our seniors," head coach Rich Rodriguez said. "This is exciting for our team and fans and the Gildan New Mexico Bowl is a great one to be at. We are thrilled to be playing in Albuquerque. We'll take advantage of the extra practice time and start preparing for Nevada."

Arizona will participate in its 17th bowl game in program history with the first coming at the 1921 Christmas Classic in San Diego. After a drought from the 1999-2007 seasons, the Wildcats have played in a bowl game in four of the last five seasons, missing only the 2011 campaign. Arizona and Nevada have met three previous times on the gridiron, with the series split evenly at 1-1-1. The Wildcats won the last meeting, 26-7, on Oct. 11, 1941, in Tucson.

"We're thrilled to be part of the Gildan New Mexico Bowl," Athletics Director Greg Byrne said. "It's a great accomplishment for Coach Rodriguez and his staff to earn a bowl bid in their first season. Our players are excited and it means a lot to our senior class. I know The University of Arizona will be well represented by our fans, staff and student-athletes at the Gildan New Mexico Bowl."

In a side note, Nevada's radio play-by-play announcer is UA grad and former Tucson Sidewinder's broadcaster Ryan Radtke.
