Pima County officials are releasing more
details about what went wrong for more than 1,000 voters trying to
cast their ballot on election day.
Pima County Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez says
a malfunction in computer software led to Election Day rosters that weren't
completely up to date.
That caused two problems. About 1,000 first time voters were
not listed in alphabetical order. Poll workers were able to find most of the
names on the rolls, but 200 voters had to use provisional ballots.
The second problem was that the program didn't update the polling locations
for about 1,000 voters who submitted registration forms in October to
change their address.
