TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Arizona Universities are saving student's money with a special new program; it's called ‘AZ Earn to Learn' and the University of Arizona has received the most funding.

UA will get $1 million to help students ‘Earn to Learn'.

That is the name of the scholarship, AZ Earn to Learn, it is a need based financial aid program that helps low income families.  Here is how it works:

Participants basically save at least $25 a month in a special account, but that is just part of the plan.  Students also need to complete financial education classes and receive one on one financial coaching and college readiness training.

Eligible students will then qualify to receive eight dollars for every dollar they save up.  Savings will then be matched up to $4,000.

The money can go towards tuition, books and any approved education related expenses at one of the three Arizona universities.
