Crews are getting ready this morning for the 4th Avenue Street Fair, and for some it could impact their commute.
In just a few hours the area surrounding the Street Fair area will be completely different, due to several street closures. Barricades will start going up at noon, with hard closures at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
From north to south, from University down to 9th Street will be blocked off; while going from east to west 6th Avenue to 3rd Avenue will be closed off as well.
These closures will enable the crews to start setting up for the street fair this weekend, which goes from 10 a.m. to dusk on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There will be plenty of room for the artists booths, ATM's and shuttle drop-offs.
These road closures will be in place until just after midnight on Monday morning, or as officials have told Tucson News Now, whenever the street sweeper is done cleaning up any mess left behind.
Drivers should find an alternate route around the street fair area starting around noon today.
