A Sierra Vista woman was arrested for violating the medical marijuana act.
Police became involved when they were called to the home on West Martin Drive for a domestic violence call. They found that both people at the home had cultivation medical marijuana cards, but were growing more plants than the legal limit.
Arizona state law allows someone to grow 12 plants, so legally 24 plants are allowed to be grown at the residence. However, according to officers there were 25 plants inside the home and six plants outside.
There were also seven empty pots in the marijuana room.
An investigation determined that 47-year-old Mary Brown ripped out six plants and put them outside before police arrived.
Brown was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, production of marijuana, and tampering with evidence.
