TUCSON (Tucson News Now) - Tucson police is holding training sessions to teach people how to spot metal theft and prevent it.
In collaboration with the Metropolitan Pima Alliance and Tucson Electric Power, Lieutenant Terence Alling of Metal Theft Training and Consultants, LLC will be instructing both law enforcement and civilian personnel about issues related to people stealing copper and other metals, which are later resold for cash.
The first segment of the training will take place on Thursday, December 13, 2012 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at 88 East Broadway. TPD invites various business members associated with the Metropolitan Pima Alliance to attend this first training event. The department hopes to open future training sessions to more businesses.
The second day of training will take place on Friday, December 14, 2012 and will be a full day event geared towards training more than 130 members of law enforcement from 26 different law enforcement agencies.
