Horry animal shelter cuts prices for holidays

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The Horry County Animal Care Center wants to send all of the animals in the shelter "Home for the Holidays" this year. 

As part of this special event, the Animal Care Center will feature special rates for animal adoptions. From Saturday, December 15th through Friday, December 21st, cats can be adopted for $20 and dogs for $40. 

On the last day of the event, December 21st, the care center will extend closing hours from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in an effort to get as many pets adopted as possible. The center will be closed until December 26th following the last day of the event.

The Horry County Animal Shelter is located at 1923 Industrial Park Road, Conway, SC 29526. For more information you can contact the Horry County Animal Care Center at 843-915-5172.

    The call came in around 3:10 p.m. Thursday, July 27 for a missing child. Officers from the Midtown Division responded to the call and spoke with the mother who said her son had been missing for nearly 30 minutes.
