PHOENIX (AP) -
Arizona's unemployment
rate continues to drop. Today state officials put the jobless rate at 7.8 percent.
That is a drop from October when it was above 8 percent.
It is also the third
consecutive month the jobless rate has fallen. More than 22,000 non-farm jobs
were added to Arizona's economy in November, the biggest November gain in 7
years.
Most jobs were in the
private sector.
The national unemployment
rate for November is 7.7 percent.
"Arizona's economy appears to be gaining momentum, the best
gift of all for the people of our state this holiday season," said
Governor Jan Brewer.
"Most impressive of
all, better than 1 in every 7 jobs created nationwide last month was generated
right here in the Grand Canyon State," she said.
