TUCSON (Tucson News Now) - The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is resuming adoptions of cats and kittens after containing a viral outbreak.
The Society will have a limited
number of cats and kittens available for adoption at the main shelter and all
off-site locations. These cats have been isolated and
monitored at the main shelter, and are showing no further signs of calcivirus, a respirator infections.
Please call the shelter or stores to be sure there are cats
or kittens at that location:

The HSSA says it will also begin accepting both owner-release and
stray cats by appointment only, starting Saturday, Dec. 22, at the main
shelter. To make an appointment, please call 327-6088, ext. 100.
Society workers say if you are relinquishing a cat it must be
restrained in a crate or carrier. Staff must be able to safely handle the
animal. Cats brought in traps will not be accepted for relinquishment.
