Major power outage in southern Arizona

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Late Breaking news of a major power outage in southern Arizona.

Right now, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office says areas including Bisbee, Palominas, and Hereford are impacted.

Power has been coming back on in Douglas, though that area had been affected earlier this evening

Landline phone service is also being impacted due to the outage, so emergency calls may require the use of a cell phone.

An APS crew is headed to the area, to try to restore power. But, that crews is coming from Phoenix.

At this point, there is no word on a cause of the outage.

    Thanksgiving dinner plans take a detour when it comes to a good deal. Shoppers were out, with their wallets out, at the Tucson Premium Outlets in Marana Thursday night, Nov. 23. But any signs of chaotic holiday shopping were muted, just as the shoppers had hoped.
