TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A neighborhood near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is getting back to normal after an 8 hour standoff, after a report of a suicidal man in a home.

"They were sitting up there on the roof with guns and stuff," said one neighbor.

A tense eight hour standoff near Kolb and Golf Links sparked a neighborhood lock down.

"They were saying come out with your hands up we want to make sure everybody's okay," said the neighbor.

An army of police and SWAT officers trying to get a possible suicidal man to come out of his home after his family said he was inside with weapons.

But Tucson Police say throughout the morning, the family's story became inconsistent and they never ended up making contact with the man.

"I didn't see anyone come out afterward," said another neighbor.

After cops left, we wanted to check for ourselves. Matt Mendes asked if anyone was home but no one came out. By 10 a.m., the neighborhood returned to normal.

Meanwhile, westbound Golf Links at Kolb was closed during the standoff.
