Tucson News Now is getting a better idea of how many drunk drivers were taken off of southern Arizona roadways in the days leading up to Christmas.
Today the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force released its newest numbers. This past Friday and Saturday, law enforcement made more than 1,200 stops. They arrested 57 people for drunk driving.
More than one third of those arrested were considered to be extreme DUI's meaning they had a blood alcohol level about 0.15. The legal limit is 0.08.
Four people were arrested for DUI that were under 21 years old.
