After the Christmas Holiday, shoppers were hitting the malls. Looking for the after Christmas Day sales.
There were a number of cars in the parking lot at Tucson Mall. Shoppers had bags full of merchandise. Some returned items, while others used gift cards to purchase clothing or other items. "I knew there would be a lot of sales going on at the mall, I wanted to do some shopping and maybe get some early birthday presents for my family," said Mae Rouhani. The University of Arizona senior feels that the shopping gives her a break, before it's back to school.
According to Shopper Track, the world's largest counter of retail traffic. The day after Christmas shopping ranked as the fourth busiest shopping day in 2011. They are predicting today will be not as busy as last year. They feel that Christmas being in the middle of a work week, could hurt sales.
The shoppers at the Foothills Mall were cruising the mall looking for deals. The businesses were hoping to be busy all day, but things got off to a slow start in the morning. "I don't know what's going on, were not too busy today, hopefully later on it will pick up," said Athena Barbea-Haro the manager of Styles for Less.
