TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Friday
morning's blaze began just before 5:30 this morning at K42 Tattoos on 22nd
Street near Wilmot. Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to control
the fire, which took about 24 minutes.
Later
in the day fire investigators determined that this fire was intentionally set,
and estimated the cost at $300,000. The repair could take months.
Even the equipment was totaled in the blaze.
Another
K42 tattoo shop was set ablaze on December 7th. Someone threw a rock
through the window, followed by fuel to start a fire. That repair is
still being finished. But owner Nicholas Becker said that business will
resume there. He said that he is trying to round up equipment to do so
because he does not want these fires to end his business, and he did not have
enough insurance to cover the damage.
"We're
going to rebuild. We're going to rebuild. This isn't, this is not
going to hold us down. You know, the Speedway shop that was a warm
welcoming. This right here just makes us mad. We're not going to be
pushed around," Becker said.
His
22nd Street location burned in an arson fire four years ago.
