In the coming weeks, the Oro Valley town council will make
a decision on whether to spend $2.1 million on projects proposed by Tucson
Electric Power.
TEP has proposed three projects for underground utility
lines. There is a town ordinance that requires utilities to be buried,
but due to the amount of money this project would require, the council must
open it up for public input.
Residents can attend the public hearing set for January 16 at
6 p.m. at the Oro Valley Town Hall.
A special study session has been scheduled on Wednesday,
Jan. 9, 2013 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers, 11000 N. La Cañada Drive. Project
details will be discussed, and members of the community will have the
opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns on the issue.
Residents who are unable to attend the meetings may submit
comments to Chris Cornelison, the Town's constituent
services coordinator, at ccornelison@orovalleyaz.gov or
