TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
The US Bank inside a Safeway on Linda Vista and Thornydale, was robbed
earlier this morning, this is according to Pima County Sheriff's Deputy Tom
Peine.
A man entered the bank around 10:30 a.m. The suspect implied a gun and
received an undisclosed amount of cash, according to PCSD. The suspect
left the bank and exited the store, but left behind a suspicious package.
The Pima Regional Bomb Squad arrived at the site and sent their robot in to
examine the package, according to Deputy Peine. It didn't take long before
they determined that the suspicious package was not dangerous.
According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department the suspect is described
as either a Caucasian or Asian man, between 5'9" to 5'10", with a
medium build. The suspect is also described as having a beard or some
type of facial hair, according to PCSD the suspect fled the store on foot heading
westbound.
If anyone sees the suspect they are encouraged to call 9-1-1.
