Options for Cox subscribers if no deal is made

Posted: Updated:

For our Cox Cable subscribers, it looks like you may start the New Year without KOLD-TV News 13 and MeTV Southern Arizona.

We know this will anger and frustrate many of you. We are frustrated too.

But, in order for cable and satellite companies to carry KOLD, we need to reach agreements that set terms for those companies to carry our signal. KOLD's parent company, Raycom Media, has been trying to negotiate a deal with Cox Cable for months, but unfortunately has been unsuccessful.

The proposed deal is not out of line.  It is what other cable and satellite companies have already agreed to.   And, if we do not reach a new agreement by midnight today, Cox will probably remove KOLD and MeTV from the line up.

However, there are other choices.  Cox subscribers can still watch our local newscasts on our web page www.TucsonNewsNow.com.  You can also see our news and CBS programming free over the air.

Or, there are other choices.  You can call DirecTV at 1-888-795-9488 or DISH at 1-888-926-5457. If you'd like to call Cox and let them know you'd like to keep KOLD and MeTV on Cox Cable: 520-300-5292 or 520-207-2108.

In the meantime, we want Cox subscribers to know that our company will continue to work around the clock to try to reach an agreement so that Cox will keep all of the programs you currently enjoy watching on KOLD-TV News 13 and MeTV Southern Arizona.
