TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Arizona's minimum-wage earners will get a raise to start the new year.

The state's minimum wage will go up to $7.80 an hour, an increase of 15 cents.

Voters in Arizona approved raising the minimum wage based on the cost of living in the state.

In August, costs jumped nearly two percent.

The federal minimum wage will remain at $7.25 an hour.
