TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
A woman serving life in prison for her University of Arizona dorm mate's murder will soon be able to argue for a
chance at parole.
The state court of appeals has upheld an
order for a new sentencing hearing for 23- year-old Galareka Harrison.
Harrison's attorney argued that her
previous lawyer failed to properly investigate her background for her
sentencing hearing and now she can apply.
Jurors found Harrison guilty of first-degree murder in the death
of fellow Navajo tribe member Mia Henderson. The verdict was reached in
September 2008. Harrison allegedly stabbed Henderson 23 times.
