Now that the holiday season has come and gone, you may be looking in your closet and see one or two items you can live without.
You're not alone. In January, millions return items they bought online.
UPS says January 3rd is the busiest days for online shopping returns. The United States Postal Service says returns are a growing part of its business that comes with online shopping.
There are a few tips you can use to make the process easier for you and your bank account.
Check if your retailer included pre-paid return labels or offers them online. If that's the case, simply repackage the item, stick on the label, and USPS bills the retailer. It's free for you!
If you are paying to ship the return, local USPS officials recommend printing a shipping label online. You can get a commercial-rate discount and tracking is free.
No matter if you are paying for it or if the retailer is paying for it, you can request free pickup from your delivery person.
