Gas prices should be lower for 2013

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Many in Tucson have seen the gas prices getting lower in the past few weeks, but the New Year could be bringing a change.

So far the New Year hasn't brought lower gas prices; in the last week Arizona gas prices have shed a little less than a penny, bringing the price to $3.05.

The national average rose more than three cents to $3.29, while here in Tucson the average is $2.88.

Motorists are not seeing a decrease in prices for the New Year, because of elevated crude and wholesale fuel prices, which are making it unclear what way gas prices will head.

AAA is predicting that prices will remain high in 2013, but are likely to be less expensive than 2012.

There is one way drivers can find the cheapest gas in their area, by using the Tucson News Now mobile app.  Click the ‘More' button on the app then head over to gas prices and it will show an entire list of gas station in their area.
