12-year-old girl taken to hospital after hit and run

MILFORD, OH (FOX19) -

A 12-year-old girl is in the hospital after a hit and run on Friday.

Milford Police said a 12-year-old girl was hit by an SUV while crossing the street. It happened in the 800 block of Main Street around 4:30 p.m.

The girl was out with friends at the time, and a driver waved her to cross the street, an area with no cross walk. Authorities revealed another driver in a gray SUV sped past and hit her. 

Police nor medics were called at the time, and the girl was then taken to a friend's house. 

Later on Friday, police were called and she was transported to a nearby hospital.

Milford Police say two women were inside the gray SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
