Family-friendly football block party at Main Gate Square today

Today Main Gate Square is hosting a Fan Fest for the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game.  The game is on Friday at the Kino Sports Complex.  

The Fan Fest is from 5 to 8 PM today along University Avenue near the University of Arizona campus. This free block party is family-friendly with face painting, inflatables, an obstacle course, video games and a rock climbing wall. Fans can also watch the BCS National Championship game on TVs in restaurants throughout Main Gate Square on University Avenue.

Plus college football fans will have the chance to meet Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game players and coaches. This includes former University of Arizona football coaches Dick Tomey and Ron McBride, both of which will hold a Q & A session with fans.

    A news release from the Northwest Fire District said a passenger car and two tractor-trailers were involved. The driver of the car and one of the truck drivers were not injured. The driver of the second truck was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
