Happening today, the Tucson Police Department will announce the men and women receiving a special honor.
The Tucson Police Foundation will announce the honorees of the 2013 Unsung Heroes award.
The recipients for this years event include: Sergeant Tim Froebe (TPD Downtown Division), Officer Jason Wilhelmsen (TPD West Division), Officer Meghan Wightman (TPD West Division), Sergeant Bill Hogan (TPD Retired) and members of 88-CRIME.
These individuals will be honored for their community service and dedication to the Tucson community at the 8th annual Unsung Heroes banquet later this month.
The Banquet help raise money to buy equipment and to train officers; the evening event includes both a silent and live auction, dinner and awards.
Today, at 3:30 p.m. the Tucson Police Foundation will announce the date, time and location for this Unsung Heroes celebration banquet.
