Sierra Vista police seek help finding purse snatcher

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Police in Sierra Vista are asking for help identifying a man suspected of stealing a purse from a woman in December.

The suspect is described as a while male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white graphics on the back.

According to a news release, the suspect grabbed the purse from a shopping cart as the 69-year-old woman and her 76-year-old husband loaded groceries into their truck at the Fry's Food Store at 4351 East Highway 90 at about 1 p.m. on Dec. 16.

The suspect fled east through the parking lot, where he jumped a fence and headed toward Tree Top Way.

The woman is recovering from recent leg surgery and her husband is blind.

The Sierra Vista Police urge anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect to  contact Detective Butler at 452-7500 or by calling 88-CRIME at (520) 882-7463.
