Vegas odds: In SC, Clemson has best chance to win 2013-14 national championship

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - According to Las Vegas oddsmakers, the Clemson Tigers have the best chance in the state of South Carolina to win next season's national college football championship.

The Tigers, who finished 11-2, are favored 16-1 to take it all, according to Bovada Sportsbook.

The return of Tajh Boyd for his senior season was likely on oddsmakers minds when deciding what might happen this fall.

South Carolina's odds are 28-1.

The 11-2 Gamecocks are losing some noteworthy players, including Marcus Lattimore and D.J. Swearinger, but will see the return of Connor Shaw, Ace Sanders, and Jadeveon Clowney.

Both teams won their respective bowl games in thrilling fashion.

Fresh off the 2012-13 BCS championship, Alabama is favored to win the national championship again with 4-1 odds.

Tied for second on the list are Ohio State and Oregon with 17-2 odds.

Two SEC teams, Texas A&M and LSU, round out the top 5 with 10-1 and 12-1 odds respectively.

No matter how the teams do during the season, USC and Clemson will meet for the "state" championship on November 30 at Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia.
