The East struck quick but after that it was all West.
Former Salpointe Catholic quarterback Jeff Tuel (Washington State) threw for 115 yards and a score and the Wildcats Taimi Tutogi scored on a one-yard run to lead former Arizona coach Dick Tomey's West squad to a 40-7 victory in the 2nd Annual Casino del Sol College All-Star game.
East quarterback Tim Jenkins (Fort Lewis) hit Aaron Horne (Iowa State) on a screen pass for a 20-yard touchdown on the game's first possession, but that would be Houston Nutt's crews' only score of the night.
Tutogi's touchdown near the end of the first quarter put the West on top 10-7. The ex-Cat played both ways in the all-star game much like he did for Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez during the season.
Tuel set up the Tutogi score with a 49-yard strike over the middle to Stanford product Drew Terrell.
The big play in the game was a 74-yard interception return for a touchdown by the West's Dalton Hilliard (UCLA).
Louisiana Tech's Ray Holley was the game's leading rusher with 88 yards on 12 carries.
