SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Three women had to be hospitalized Sunday afternoon when their carriage ride through Old Town Scottsdale went horribly wrong.
According to witnesses, the horse pulling the carriage became scared and began running wildly down the street.
"The driver couldn't stop the horse, he was standing on top holding back the reigns all the way down the street and he got down to the intersection down here and it just exploded," said David Aboud, who saw the unfortunate finish to the carriage ride.
All three women were sent flying from the carriage. They were subsequently taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The driver and the horse were not injured.
Much like those who were involved, Aboud said he won't soon forget Sunday's crash.
"It was a horrible thing to see," he remarked. "Very scary for everybody obviously."
