TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
A gas-line break resulted in a partial street closure on Tucson's east
side Monday morning.
Tucson Fire responded and controlled the gas leak, but westbound traffic on
East Broadway Boulevard near Craycroft Road was shut down during the
repairs.
Libby Howell from Southwest Gas says the broken line is a service line, not
a main line, so it affected only one customer.
Howell says it repair work could last into mid-afternoon.
The line was hit by a landscaping crew.
Construction
workers in the immediate area were evacuated.
A total of 28 firefighters were dispatched to help evacuate, monitor the
air, and assist in securing the line break.
