FORT HUACHUCA (Tucson News Now) - The U.S. Army says it's setting a new record for water savings at its post in Sierra Vista.

Last year, the Army says it pumped 986 acre-feet of water, beating the previous low water use record set in 2011, which was 1,030 acre-feet.

The Army is involved in water conservation efforts, including water-wise construction and an aggressive water leak detection program.
