TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
A fire, likely caused by a space heater, has left a Hereford couple without a home.
The fire near the Mexican border destroyed the house, Cochise Sheriff's spokesperson Carol Capas said.
Palominas and Fry fire rescue crews responded to the 10000 Block of Foster Lane shortly before midnight Monday, Capas said. That's near Boundary Road and Spanish Spur Lane in southern Cochise County.
The woman was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.
The fire remains under investigation, Capas said, but she said it appears to be an electrical fire, likely sparked by a space heater.
